How to Trade/Barter Online for a Good Deal

The Leads Finder searches thousands of websites for you with one search. Many of those websites include online classified sites, like Craigslist. So not only can you get a good deal, but you can find thousands of items for free or for trade. Speaking of which, keep reading on for some helpful tips if you want to barter or trade and use the Leads Finder as a tool for doing so.

Inspect all expensive trades first. It is common to see people trading large items, like cars online. Someone might just have one too many kids now and need a mini-van so they are willing to trade their in good shape compact car. You can get a good deal with similar value trades, but first you must make sure the value is similar. Never agree to an expensive trade online without seeing all items first.

Fair trades are best. In addition to inspecting large and expensive trades, use your common sense. For example, swapping your child's $600 swing set for a Dora the Explorer bike she always wanted isn’t really a good deal since these bikes sell for around $60 at Wal-Mart. Always make sure you get at least a semi-decent deal.

Be careful of trades done through the mail. These are typically a scam sign and there are many risks. You might send your item and get nothing in return. While you do not lose physical money, you do take a hit. Another risk is the possibility of getting stolen goods. There might be a reason the trader doesn't want you to see their face, know where they live, or what car they drive – they might be trading stolen merchandise.

If you are responding to a trade ad posted online, be polite. For instance, do not get mad or upset if someone turns down your offer. You can take steps to increase your chances by offering multiple trade alternatives. Good luck!
