How to Make Use of Unlimited Resume Storage with the JobFinder for Windows PC
As you likely already know, the JobFinder for Windows PC is a job search tool that is jam-packed full of great features. One feature we are particularly proud of is your ability to upload multiple resumes and cover letters to the JobFinder. Many job sites only allow you to store one resume or none at all.
As great as a feature as this is to have, you may run into a problem with the JobFinder. It isn’t the program itself, but how you have been using your resume. I bet you only have one right? Now things should change. Why?
There are a number of benefits to having more than one job seekers resume uploaded and ready to send when applying for jobs. In fact, these resumes don’t even have to be that different either; they can be slight variations of each other. The key is to use these variations to your advantage.
For example, you have experience as a retail manager and as a secretary. As you can imagine, these are two different jobs with very different job responsibilities. Now, since you have experiences in both these fields, you want to apply for both jobs types. You want both former positions listed on your resume (never leave large unexplained time gaps), but you want to do two things.
First, you want to focus more on the job that ties into the position you are applying for. For example, if applying for a management job at the local Home Depot, your job description for all retail jobs should be longer and more detailed than others. Your resume should focus on the skills and experiences that pertain to the job in question.
Second, you want to start connecting the dots. Keeping with the example of retail management and office secretary, these jobs are very different but there is always a way to connect the dots. For example when applying for retail management jobs, change the wording from your job duties as a secretary from “scheduling appointments” to “in change of appointment scheduling.” You don’t want all hiring managers too look at non-relevant jobs and think “I don’t care about this;” make them care by making it relevant.
By keeping the above mentioned points in mind, you can easily end up with at least 10 different variations of the same resume! Upload and store all of these resumes on the JobFinder. When it comes to applying for jobs you found via the JobFinder; pick the resume variation that is literally the perfect fit.
