Tips and Tricks: Keep Your Job Search Organized with the JobFinder
With the ability to search thousands of job sites at once, your chances of finding good jobs to apply for with the JobFinder are quite high. In fact, you might be overwhelmed with all the results. This does leave a lot of room for confusion, frustration, and errors. Luckily, the JobFinder does make it easy for you to keep your job search organized. How so?
Customized Notes: These are notes you can attach to jobs. Don’t worry no one else will see them but you. Notes are a great way to keep important dates in order. Make a note of when you applied for the job, when you received a call back, when you have a job interview scheduled and so forth.
After attaching a note to a job via the JobFinder, the color of that job changes. This is to alert you to the fact that a job has a note attached (another way the JobFinder helps keep your job search organized.
How do you attach customized notes to jobs? Please follow these steps:
Step #1 – Do a Search
You must first have jobs that interest you, so do a search. Key in a search word or phrase, enter in your zip code, select a radius to search, and submit your search.
Step #2 – Review Your Results
After doing a job search via the JobFinder, your jobs list appears at the top of the page. This list contains jobs that met your search criteria. Click a job to see the full job listing in the window below.
Step #3 – Attach Customized Notes
If you want to attach a note to a job, focus on the bottom of your screen. Next to the full job listing on the right-hand side of the page, you’ll see a button labeled “Notes.” Click it!
Step #4 – Type Your Note
Right away, you will see the box for you to type your note. Remember, this note can be anything you want it to be – when a resume was sent, an interview date, a reminder to apply later, and so forth. Click to save your note.
Step #5 – Retrieve Old Notes
Since the color of each job with a note attached changes, you know when a note is attached. To view old notes or to delete them, click to “Notes” button again. At the bottom of the pop-up that appears, you will see all your old notes posted.

As with notes, the color of jobs change when you use the JobFinder to apply. This alerts you to the fact that you already applied. You know not to send another resume again.
