Last month, we purchased a new house and are finally moved in. It isn’t necessarily until you move in when you realize “hey, this place could use a few more things.” So what did I do? I turned to the Leads Finder. This desktop application searches Craigslist and thousands of other classified websites. Here are some of the things I learned when it comes to finding furniture for sale with the Leads Finder.
- Some sellers leave their ads up even after the item has sold. Therefore, it is best not to get too excited about a great piece of furniture with an affordable price.
- Since some sellers do leave their ads up even after an item has sold, it is best to skip listings that are more than 5 days old because they are usually a waste of time.
- It is more time saving to avoid items that don’t have a picture posted. Just because a seller says their couch is in perfect condition, it doesn’t make it true in all cases (lol found that out the hard way).
- Just because a furniture seller says “$100 for a new couch,” it doesn’t necessarily mean they mean $100. I have successfully negotiated down to a lower price multiple times by saying “I can pickup the item in less than 24 hours if you cut your price by X amount of dollars.” Most times, you will find that furniture sellers want this extra piece of furniture gone and now.
- Be sure to score a good deal, but don’t forget about free items either. Not all free things are junk. I got a really nice rocking chair for free. All that was wrong is a few loose screws and it needed a can of finish. Now, it looks like new!
